Apostolos Tamvakakis
Apostolos is the founder and Managing Partner of the EOS Global Investors Group, with more than 45 years of experience in senior management positions across various sectors.
Prior to this role, he has served as an independent non-executive Vice Chairman of the BoD of Piraeus Bank (2015-2017), as CEO (2009-2012) and as Deputy CEO (1998-2004) of National Bank of Greece. He has also served as Head of Strategy and Business Development on the management team of the Geneva-based Latsis Group and as a Chairman and CEO of Lamda Development (2004-2008).
During his longstanding career, Apostolos has worked as Deputy Governor of National Mortgage Bank of Greece, as Deputy General Manager of ABN AMRO Bank, as Manager of Corporate Finance at Hellenic Investment Bank and as Planning Executive at Mobil Oil Hellas. He also served as Vice-Chairman of Athens Stock Exchange, Chairman of the Steering Committee of Interalpha Group of Banks, Chairman of Ethnokarta, National Securities, AVIS (Greece), ETEVA and the Southeastern European Board of the Europay Mastercard Group.
Apostolos has a long and successful track record in M&A’s, divestments and co-investments, having participated in almost all major privatization deals in Greece from 1995 onwards – including more than 50 transactions domestically and internationally.
Today he holds the positions of Vice Chairman of Gek Terna, Member of the BoD of Euroseas Ltd, Member of the BoD of Eurodry Ltd, Member of the BoD of Euroholdings Ltd, Member of the BoD of Intergrated Resort Complex Ellinikon SA and Member of the BoD of Ergo Insurance.
He is a graduate of the Athens University of Economics and holds an M.A. in Econometrics from the Saskatchewan University in Canada.
